Architecture as care over style
Film installation by Noemí Blager and Tapio Snellman
Brilliant 3-screen installation at the AA, a beautiful watch and soundtrack describing a series of housing, education, social and public spaces across the globe using architecture as a form of care rather than exercise in style.
Love the lyrical snapshot format: overlapping images, brief text, micro interviews, not much detail, no statistics and a focus on people using the space not the big idea.
Includes 2 projects by Lacaton & Vassal whose Bordeaux project sticks in my mind as the demolition vs retrofit battle plays out in the UK.
Finishes today, heading to Berlin next, loads of information here.
